Visiting Malta - by Per Kaer Moeller, Denmark

Last year in the summertime I went to Malta with my family for the first time. Vacation and a chance to see my old friend, Eddie Newcombe after many years were the reasons in first place. I had a lovely stay in Malta meeting Eddie and new friends.

In March 2012 I went back with my friend Knud Kristensen to watch the racing season.

I noticed that the period had been difficult with many lost pigeons since start of the season.

The visit to Malta and meeting the Maltese fanciers became as always very nice.

First we went to meet Mario Farrugia. He also took us to Central Racing Pigeon Club in Mosta to see the club and basket of the pigeons for the race from Belvedere, March 13.

Tony Harte, Gozo was very kind to take us for a visit to Bertram Debono and his father, Carmel Debono.

Due to delay of the race we went to meet Tony on Tuesday to see the pigeons coming home.
Congratulation to Tony Harte with 1st Federation, March 25 from Belvedere!

Waiting and enjoying the weather. Pigeons arriving home.

Of course we saw Eddie Newcombe and had a good talk about pigeons.
Just before we returned back to Denmark we had a nice evening and meal in St. Pauls Bay Qawra.

We had a very nice evening. As always with a quick and good comment from Eddie about pigeons and things in live.

I wish all Maltese fanciers best of luck for the rest of the season. I hope that the wetter will get better.
A special thank to Tony Harte, Eddie Newcombe, Bertram Debono, Carmel Debono and Mario Farrugia for all their hospitality during our stay.
